On the TS-2000 panel layout I have, it says that that knob without the 
function key is "manual BC", manual beat cancellation I guess.

I'm not sure what that one does without hitting function honestly, it seems
to be another sort of notch filter of some sort but I really am not sure
what it does. The auto notch, with function adjusts the level of auto notch
and the top in that group of 3 is noise reduction and again, hitting
function then that lets you adjust it but the manual notch button I'm not
sure what it's supposed to do without hitting function.
