Hi, Jim. Thanks for your getting back to me. It's been a while
since I've bought scanners, so pardon the many questions. I had some
Bearcat and Radio Shack scanners; that's how long it's been since I
bought scanners. Unfortunately, the scanners I had just plain fell
apart or died, e.g., the Radio Shack battery pack just disintegrated
in my hands when I took it out of the radio. Mistakenly left some
alkaline batteries in there, and they did their destructive
magic. So, now, I want to get back into the scanner hobby, and am
amazed on how much has changed, not necessarily for the better with
respect to accessibility.--Matt, N1IBB.

P.S. What kind of experiences have people had in working with the BCD396?
