Dear Gary,

Please give me your own email as I hate to keep clogging up the List with our private conversation.

Your instructions sound pretty good except that as you face the front of the radio, the buttons you describe are on the left.

I can mess up the radio as the meter does not work so a sighted person cannot set freqs and PL for me. And I don’t know how to do that myself.

Thus, I don’t want to take a chance and take all the freqs and PLs out that are set in the radio now.

Hi Bob,
It is a place to start. The buttons on the right side of the radio are:
Top left, Call button, this can be set to any frequency that you wish. This
could be for a greatly used frequency or the calling frequency of 146.520 or
the 70cm frequency of 446.000. The next button below is the VFO, which will
let you establish a frequency. When held in when turning on the radio, this
starts to do a parcell reset. After you select this procedure, you need to
push one of the button between the main tuning knob and the volume control.
This confirms your selection. The next below is the memory button.This
recalls any frequency that you have committed to a memory channel. When
held in when turning on the radio does a full reset. This also asks for you
to select a button between the main tuning knob and the volume control. As
I stated earlier, the main tuning knob when held in will put the radio in
Demo mode or take it out of Demo mode. You cant mess it up! Gary KB2YAA

Thanks Gary. But how sure are you of this?

I seem to remember holding down either the VFO or memory buttons which =
are above the main tuning dial and just below a button which I think has =
something to do with priority channel.=20

They are on the very left of the front of the radio as you are looking =
at it.=20

Subject: Question About TMV7A

I have a TMV7 A. Be aware that it is not the TMV7 1A, just the A.

It seems to be jammed. No matter which button or knob I hit, it =
sound=3D3D
s a
high pitch tone.

I know there is a way to do a soft reset and a hard reset.

I do not want to do a hard reset as =3D

ll programming.

Does anyone know how to do a soft reset?

I know you hold down either VFO or memory and turn radio off. One =
doe=3D3D
s the
hard reset and the other does the soft reset.
