Jim, do you have Fry's electronics where you are? If rad shack doesn't have 
RJ12, maybe Fry's does! Doug, N6NFF

Colin, you are right, I am missing a couple of wires, but, they aren't in
the cable, they are in my brain!  Hmmh, I think I will go get wired!  Will
check to see if the Rat shack has RJ12 cables, but I bet they will say they
never heard of them.  Man, it's pretty hot here around 100 Deg's F.  Not

I thought RJ12 was the same size as rj11, but with 6 contacts instead of
four?
And Jim, it sounds to me like you are missing two wires in that cable...the
RJ11 phone cable you are using probably only has four conducters like most
phone extension cables.
Lucky for you, those are the two needed for audio output and not something
else more vital to the radios operation.
RJ45 has 8 conducters, RJ12 has 6 I think and RJ11, standard telephone has
4, two twisted pairs.
