Hi;
Apparently they are coming out with a new improved booksense that
will let you both download from bookshare and has a camera for o
c r.  Didn't like the price.  695.00 on special seemed a bit
high. On the other hand still recovering from sticker shock
concerning the surface 3. Might just as well buy a laptop and
get it done. I've never played with notebook computers but the
price is much more reasonable and I wonder if you could still get
the basics done?

As of now, the booksense is behind times. You can't download
books from
bookshare or bard directly to it. You can't subscribe and
download
podcasts . This can be done on the second generation Stream.

book sense is
 actually quite a powerful and useful device.
 Take up smoking, it's like gambling, but cheaper and then the
smoke in the
 casino's won't bother you lol.

 Hi,

 Writing this from South Lake Tahoe. Man the area sure has built
up since =
 the last time I was here, probably 15 years ago.=20

 I hate all the noise and cig smoke in the Casinos. I like to
play B J =
 but I don=E2=80=99t like to lose money so I rarely gamble.
I=E2=80=99ve =
 done 10 Jazz cruises and I think I lost $20 one time.=20

 Your device sounds great but too much dough.=20

 BTW- I have a Book Sence I think it is called. I never could
figure out =
 how to use it. I=E2=80=99ve been thinking about selling it and
buying a =
 Victor stream. That way you could teach me how to use it.=20
 Also, do you use Echo Link? If so maybe you could teach me how
to use it =
 also. Years ago I used it but I know it has changed a whole lot
since =
 then.=20

 Did you go to Rehab to really get trained for something? Or did
you go =
 just so they would buy you that recorder?=20

 Bob, it's not much larger than a cell phone. I got it about
4=20
 years ago when I retired and I don't know who sells them
because=20
 I got it from Rehab. You could look it up on Amazon or google
I=20
 bet and I think they cost around $350 or did then, but not
sure=20
 of the cost. All the buttons have speech output so it's easy
to=20
 set up your recording mode, get a pretty good idea if your
level=20
 is correct, get file lengths and battery status and much more.

 Am listening now on 7.189 if you want to try that, Jim WA6EKS

 Is it large?=3D20
 Is it complicated?
 Do you have to look at a menu?
 How much is it?
 Where did you get  it?

 I have been very happy with the pocket Plextalk recorder
but=3D20
 wouldn't recommend it for recording voice reminders though
you=3D20
 can use it's voice note feature for that. It is also a
pretty=3D20
 good unit for recording live music because it can use the
44.1=20
 16=3D20
 bit stereo mode producing wav files that you can edit on
your=3D20
 computer. I'm sure that other units like the Edi-role and=20
 Zoom=3D20
 might have better pre-amp's but the Pocket Plextalk does
alright.  =20

 I also need one. The only ones I=3D3DE2=3D3D80=3D3D99ve found
lately=20
 use=3D20
 menus that =3D3D
 I cannot read.=3D3D20

 Or a very simple 3-button one that was not good. Got it from=20
 the=3D20
 Braille =3D3D

 Hi,

 I know that I could use a smart phone, aa VR stream, or a=3D20
 plextalk, but =3D3D
 I'm=3D3D20
 looking for a pocket sized digital recorder that will let
me=3D20
 append to =3D3D
 an=3D3D20
 existing message without having to go in to a menu. I=20
 currently=3D20
 have an =3D3D
 old=3D3D20
 sony b5 or something like that, but its about ready to kick=20
 the=3D20
 bucket.  =3D3D
 Any=3D3D20
 ideas for a replacement?
