Butch,

I don't know if they are still around but there was a company in Ohio called 
KCom which made awesome, in-line  telephone filters. you merely had to plug 
the phone line into them and plug the other end of the filter into the 
phone. They worked incredibly well in my experience. Good luck. Lou
