I have what I think is a Kenwood TM71. It is definitely
not a TMV71 as that is 2-metre/70-centametres. I have had it for
around 5 years and it is reasonably accessible with all the
CTCSS and DCS tones. I don't know if it would take a voice
synthecisor board but if it does, I may spring for it as it
would make life easier even though it gives different-pitched
beeps when you perform various operations on it.

	The receiver is excellent as far as intermodulation
products go and the CTCSS tones reverse-burst function as in
what you get from a lot of Motorola equipment works most of the
time.

	I do remember downloading a PDF manual from Kenwood so
this maybe what you are describing.
	The transceiver has a push-button pad on the front of
the microphone.

	I think this is a ham version of a Kenwood commercial
two-way radio system as the ones I have seen look exactly like
this rig except the front-pannel knobs and buttons do different
functions.

	While I am at it, does anybody know if one of the
Kenwood voice boards might work in this radio?
