Personally I do find this list informative.  I admit though that I just 
delete without reading most of the messages on the list.  Now and then, 
after a topic has gone on for a while, and I've been deleting the associated 
messages, I'll look in on a message or two to see if the subject is being 
used for something actually interesting.
