Hello, everyone.

 

The North American QSO Party SSB contest was an absolute blast here!  In
fact, I think that, in terms of the number of qsos logged, it was my best
effort ever.

 

I operated a total of nine hours, and made 355 qsos.  My point total was
30175.  I can't seem to find my number of multipliers either in the
statistics view, or in my Cabrillo file from the N3FJP logging software, so
that is one mystery for me yet.  since my XYL is out of town for the next
couple of days, I may have to wait for her to look for that detail to see if
something appears on the screen that I can't get to with Jaws.

 

40 meters was by far my best band, with a total of 266 contacts made.  I
made 1 contact on 10 meters, 18 on 15 meters, 43 on 20 meters, and 27 on 75
meters.

 

I worked 44 states, 2 Canadian provinces, and 1 station in the Cayman
Islands.

 

If there was a major disappointment for the day, it had to be 20 meters.

 

I spent a couple hours on 20 Saturday afternoon, but found the band to be
very strange.  I worked stations as close by as Illinois, and as far away as
California, but the band seemed to be very inconsistent and rapidly changing
at times.  I think my score would have been even higher, if I had been more
successful on 20.

 

I did work Lloyd (W3IUU) and Steve (KW3A) on 40 meters, so that was a
definite plus.

 

Anyway, it's onward from here, and I'm sure looking forward to the N A Q P
again in January!
