Hello!
Wondering if any Celiac experts out there can shed some light on Gliadin IgA vs. IgG.
My 8 year old son is doing well on a GF diet and we are very vigilant about what he eats. We recently ran an annual Celiac panel to monitor his numbers. The GI specialist was pleased with the results.
His Endomysial screen (IgA) was negative. His TTG IgA was 6 (0-19 range) His Gliadin Pep Ab IgG was 3 (0-19 range).
*I am a little curious why his Gliadin Pep Ab IgA was 20 (range 0 - 19). In a previous test is was 22 (with same ref. range, so came down slightly).
The interesting thing is that when he was first diagnosed, his Gliadin IgG was 20 (upper limit was 15) and his Gliadin IgA was negative (less than 15). His TTG was very high.
Just wondering if a slightly high Gliadin IgA could be due to trace amounts of gluten from contamination (ie. rice or quinoa, etc.) or if it could be from molecular mimacry and he could be sensitive to another food?
Please let me know your thoughts!

Thanks,Lori, NYC
