I called Burts Bees about the lip Shimmers tingling. I was told they are gluten-free, but the tingling is a normal reaction to the peppermint oil. Not life threatening. Once I was reassured it's not an allergy or a major reaction, I started using them regularly and I'm finding it's not unbearable and wears off quickly. The rep said some colors tingle more than others due to oil concentration. I have no clue why they want their product to tingle. She said if I find it unnerving, call again, and they'll enter the comment in a system that keeps track of customer reactions. Not sure why they didn't just enter the comment I made when I called the first time.
Anyway, it's cheaper than lipstick and coming in helpful with the cold, dry air we're having in the NorthEast.
