Well God could stay busy just answering prayers for lost things in my wood
shop.
I just fear that every other few words would be "Dear god?" if I bothered to
pray for every little thing I put down and forget where I put it.
hehehehe
I am glad that this more important lost thing was found though. Good for
you guys.
I once lost a creditcard and went crazy looking for it.
Tore the bottom out of the couch because I thought it might bee down in
their.
Crawled all over the house and turns out, it was in a safe in the kitchen of
a restaurant we frequented right across the street. We had left it their
and the owner kept it for us and waited for us to come back in again.
I can't help but think of this skit I have seen on Saturdaynight live which
stared Sally Fields and Phil hartman.
I thought it a bit tacky when Phil hartman would play the part of jesus but
then again, god must have a since of humor if we are made in his image.
Not that we look funny, just that we all have a since of humor.
Anyway, the skit, if you have not seen it is about this little family, a
husband, little girl and a mother.
The mother praied constantly, and about every little thing. Be with my
husband while they drive out of the drive way and stay with him on our
street, and oh yes please walk in love with he and my daughter as they get
on the highway and on and on and on. She stopped and started prayer every
few seconds.
In the skit, Jesus, comes to her and tries to let her know that she doesn't
need to pray about every little thing. More or less trying to say that
since he heard everyone's prayers that her constant praying over every
trivial thing was getting on his nervs.
He couldn't get it across to her and he ended up leaving her babbling on as
usual.
The message it got across to me was that we should trust god to handle the
small things and not drive ourselves nuts worreying over wheather god was
really working in our lives but of course their message was that god was
annoied by overly religious women.
They were making fun of southern christians, as she spoke with a southern
accent in the skit.
I think god has time to hear all prayers but I do think we should trust in
god to be in our lives since we have accepted him.
We pray because we have these things on our minds and in the end, god is
always their working.
Matt
