Howard,
Run the cable from your PC to the serial data jack in the back of the
KXPA100 amp. The PC then can control both the KX3 and the KXPA100 amp.
Commands for the KXPA100 are processed there and those commands not
understood are passed on to the KX3. Both the KX3 Utility and the KXPA
Utility thus use the same wire (but not at the same time). Also, your
logging software can use it too but again, not at the same time as either
Elecraft Utility.

Note, the communications speed must be set to 38.4 Kbps on everything for
all this to work.

I now have a ham shack computer.
I want to hook the kx-3 to it.
I have the cable that runs from the kx-3 to the computer, but it plugs in
where the pa-100 amp plugs in to the kx-3.
How do I get the computer in to the system while running the radio and the
amp?
