I agree with Steve.

40 meters was very strange yesterday afternoon at round table time.

I could hear Lloyd just above my noise level. ... He was talking to Lowell,
but, believe it or not, I could not copy Lowell at all.  There also was a
great deal of thunderstorm QRN in my area.

So, based on all of that, I didn't even try to check in from out here at the
RV.

Don't know if I'll be around for the 20-meter net this afternoon, but may
try from here at the RV.

Will have to see if that band behaves any better.

Band was pretty dead.   I heard W8QIY, but had some technical  problems 
in the shack and was tinkering around with things.  I know Lowell heard 
  W3IUU, but I didn't hear a peep from him.   Strange enough, as I tried 
to figure things out here, I heard KG4ITD and KD4JEZ from Florida.   Go 
figure.
