I don't have more than what I can eek out of the radio...on the ts830 that's
about 120W on 20 and 40M
Waiting for a driver transistor to be fixed in another radio and then I'll
be back on HF with a more accessible rig than the ts830 or the trc-70.
I haven't found a good enough deal on an amplifier quite yet, at least not
on one that doesn't need a bunch of work done on it or that doesn't appear
to be a home brew gone terribly wrong hahaha.
I go to enough flee markets that I should find something eventually that
will do the trick.
I'm not totally convinced that 500W is going to make that much difference
over the 100W and change that I can do now...I figure maybe 2S units max.
anyway, I seldom hear VO1 land, I think it's just in that odd spot between
too close and too far on 20 for the first and second hop or something.
Though, perhaps it's because there just aren't allot of hams on in NFLD...
Either way, once I have the shack put back together and reorganized, I will
try and arrange a sched with you and see how things go between the wild west
and the civilized east hahaha.
