Dave, tell me more about the crank-up towers and tri-banders you guys used.
I would like our club to use something like that next year. Another club I
was active in used a tri-pod with a telescoping mast and a small tri-bander
that worked out quite well. The club I'm in now just put up dipoles for 40
and 20. They just didn't work very well. I much prefer double bazookas for
80 and 40 and a tri-band beam or quad for the other bands. If you can't get
the antenna up very high, the quad will outperform most beams.
