If you want to splurge, buy the Bose doughnut whole sized headphones which 
are noise canceling headphones.  I paid 300 dollars several years ago but 
when you snap that noise canceling switch on, you hear nothing but what 
comes through the headphones.  My grandkids have to tap me on the knee or 
shoulder because I cannot hear anything outside the headphones.
