I'm thinking your confusing the FT-102 with one of the 101s for TVI. I think the E was notable for TVI, at least a fellow local ham's was. When I had my shack at my parents, my 570 caused more TVI then either the TS-940 or my 102, now my parents wiring was in a terrible mess in the electrical panel. LOL
My dad was one for adding electrical plugs when needed and the wiring wasn't very tidy. LOL
Also, the FT-102 is a 200W SSB rig and you control that with the mic gain, so barefoot I was running just around 150W on SSB, peaking 200W. When running the amp, I'd run the 102 at about 50W drive into the amp, CW, peaking the amp at 600W SSB.
So I ran everything well with in spec. My only issue right now is the cost of a new rig that delivers the performance of my 102. I guess I'm somewhat spoiled.
It might take an IC-7600 or a ProIII which has the same receiver performance of the 102. a 3RD intercept point of 108DBM. That's better then the FTDX-1200/3000 and TS-590/2000, not sure about the TS-990 or FTDX-5000/9000 series.
