Tom,

If you installed the full version of Winamp, it can play videos provided 
that you associate your video files with Winamp.  As someone else on this 
list suggested, make sure that Windows knows that you want Winamp to be the 
default program for opening all your various audio and video file types. 
Typing "default programs" into the Start Menu search box should bring you to 
the right place to make that happen.  Just in case it doesn't, you can find 
it in the Control Panel.
