The mobile will always have more power and honestly with the newer hand held 
radios having SMA jacks on them for antennas, I'd never hook one up to an 
outside antenna with any coax worth the trouble because decent coax would be 
heavy enough to snap the connector off. Other than a very short run, rg-58 
isn't worth the effort if you ask me.
