I only used OE 6 a little, with Window-Eyes. The default display of the
program looks and acts like a web page, including that web page. Sometimes
I would see this display, and it's been too long ago for me to remember how
it happened. Turning browse mode (virtual cursor for JAWS) off, then
tabbing to and entering on the Inbox link might fix the problem. The mail
folders appear in a tree, and I think that if you collapse this tree or
press Enter on its root, you got this welcome page. Hope this helps.

My friend Jim (kb5fnw) is having problems with his computer especially with
Outlook Express. When he tries to bring it up, he gets this "welcome to
outlook express 6," message and other things we can't figure out. I don't
know how to correct the problem, or what is going on. I am afraid the
program may have been corrupted. That concerns me because he is using
Microsoft Security essentials which if it is so good, how did it miss
whatever this is that may have damaged Outlook Express. Since he can't do
email right now, if someone will write me off list that feels they can be of
help, I'll give them his phone number privately. He does have that latest
Internet Explorer security update that was supposed to correct the hacking
problem with Internet Explorer.
