There are a few of us around who still use dial up services and dial up is handy
in an emergency. Recently sdf lost their dial up facilities due to changes in
providers such as AOL. As a result, sdf now has its own phone lines which let
you call in to a secure services for them.

You need to be an sdf member which is free atsdf.org but you do have to pay for
dial up service. Its $10 per month which is a lot cheaper than other services
or $84 per year which comes out to $7 per month. This lets you log in to a
shell account and you can go anywhere from there. The system is unix so it
supports any kind of dial in from 300b-56kb.

There are currently two working numbers for the system. They are 1-206-324-6330
and 1-206-324-0474 available at any time. When you get the initial log-in
screen the log-in is 'sdf' and the password is 'sdf'. That will get you to the
regular sdf log-in. You can even set up a new account using these numbers.

If you have questions you can contact the list admin at [log in to unmask] or me at the
address in this message.
