Evidently the Jabra system has a mute button so that wouldn't be
a problem using VOX. The audio I've heard from them sounds
really crisp. I think they use spread spectrum like cordless
phones and cost around $130 or so. 73, Jim WA6EKS

You can always use a foot switch. I would recommend this in any
case =
over VOX because it is too easy to inadvertently trip the VOX.
The =
wireless stuff all uses 2.4 ghz these days if it is intended for
use =
with a cell phone, or some of the older stuff uses 900 which is
not =
cellular, and in fact is in our ham bad there.

Just wondering if anyone on the list has experience with the =20

in=20
the same portion of the spectrum as cell phones I guess.
Some=20
local hams are using them and the audio is great. You do have

Their is an optional rj12 cable that goes from the control
head=20
of the 480
to the body of the radio. With mike and paddle extention
cables,=20
operation
from the coffee table, easy chair, or couch is equally
pheasible. =20
If you do
a lot of listening, this can be especially fun.
An external speaker is also a nice addition to the station.
The internal tuner will tune an antenna with a 6/1 SWR.
Almost=20
everything
talks, except for the internal power and SWR meter.
