My gripes with this list are the lengthy non ham radio threads, which belong on the blind tech and cell phone/ipod related lists and the list admin refusing to address the apple issue with sending mail to this list.
I don't think this would take months to repair and if the list had to be brought off line for a week or 2 to fix this problem then why not do it?
As for the lengthy non hr related topics, on other lists dedicated to ham radio related equipment, the sender who would continuously post a non list subject would be removed from the list.
I really think that it would be best if the current admin or admin's can't take the time to moderate this list and address the users issues, then it should be past on to a group who can do it.
On the moderating issue, I was explaining to a gentleman on the FT-102 yahoo group about how I couldn't read my manual because A I'm visually impaired and B. the old manual couldn't be scanned because I didn't have the right scanner or software and he basically gave me the business about being like someone who was acting like a person who went into a lawn mower store demanding I be sold a pare of shoes. <smile>
He was kicked off the list for his comments. If I'm not mistaken, the same thing happened on this list last year.
A very heated discussion occurred regarding disability wages and so on and there was some fowl language used in the back and forth replies. LOL
Nothing was done, at least to my knowledge anyway.
But that's the way this list goes, you either set digest or hit the delete key. Just like ham radio.
If you don't like what's being said, you have that big knob to turn. I won't unsubscribe because, although not communicating with everyone, I do communicate with a few and I've gotten some valuable assistance.
