Tom,

I'm looking at this from a different perspective.  Where do you have 
menu 53 set?  This controls the delay time for the amp keying.  I don't 
recall the numbers, maybe try setting to a higher value.   Setting to 3 
would give the longest delay time.

   Also how are you doing PTT?  Maybe your PTT is flakey.   I don't 
think you use VOX, and i remember you had a foot switch.    What about 
the PTT on the mic?  Same problem?  What about the PTT on the original 
hand mic?

  I don't know if it happened on Saturday, or Sunday, but i had good 
copy on you both days and didn't hear anything amiss.
