Thanks so much for this additional TS480 information.

My TS480, and all of my cheat sheet notes are out in the RV, which is still
snow-bound, but I'm going to make a note of this for use whenever Spring
gets here, and we can resurrect the RV again.

Will come in handy, I'm sure.

If it had not been for Danny's original article posting on the zero-beat
topic, I wouldn't have learned everything I have today, so thanks, Danny,
for the article.

Tom,

I heard you say on the 20 meter net that  prior to this recent discussion
you were not aware of the cw auto tune in the 590.  I think you still have a
480 in the RV.  You may or may not be aware that cw auto tune is also on the
480.  Just to the right of the number pad are 4 keys in a diamond pattern
for  setting NR, filters, etc.  The  bottom of these 4 keys is the cw auto
tune.

Thanks to posts from Lloyd, Ed, and Steve, I now have some idea of  the 
cw reverse stuff.   Never had the slightest idea what it was there for.
