Mike,

I cannot remember the name or the call of the guy but I remember his wife 
got licensed while they were in the Canal Zone and she was KZ5LC and I only 
remember that because one of the group members called her Lazy crocodile. 
None of those calls ring any bells but the bands were so stable bacck then, 
you could hold contacts for the entire day.  I worked Japanese stations by 
the hundreds on 15 meters.  One was a veterinarian, JA1XOD I think was his 
call, and we talked for over two hours on CW one afternoon.
