Harvey, as I understand it, the latest version is inaccessible, but prior
versions are accessible.  I use it myself, and haven't installed the latest
version.

I'd try to get a version of Malwarebytes for XP and run it on that machine.

Perhaps there's a hard disk problem, but I'd think the results wouldn't be
so predictable.
