Hi Steve and all,
I have never used the computer control on the ts2000 but i do use one every 
day.
I have never had problems setting the mic gane or anything elce with the 
channel knob.
Yes you can count clicks ok and of course the moniter works ok for adjusting 
your audio settings.
I allways get good audio reports from mine.
I have also never had problems setting pl tones either and that includes 
using the  channel knob.
