My IPod is the second generation unit, I don't know anything about the newer
models. I'm staying away from Apple as they are more proprietary than
microsoft or Google.

You are correct, the second generation stream has better sound than an ipod
touch. This is why I bought an ipad mini. The ipad mini has better sound
than an ipod touch, stream, booksense book port plus and plextalk pocket. I
use my ipod touch 5th generation for streaming radio and I find it's just as
reliable as my plextalk pocket. With using the ipod for streaming radio, I
have access to many morg stations than the pocket. AS of now, you can't do
streaming radio or download podcasts to the second generation stream.

I know that everyone has been singing the praises of the IPod and the Ipad
mini, but I much prefer the VRstream2 to the sound of my IPod and the
internet radio feature is more reliable on my plextalk than the IPod.
