Good morning, Beckey! Are you wanting to access the handiham conference
server on Echolink? If so, here's how you do it with a desktop computer. 1.
Launch Echolink. 2. Hit control puls o. 3. In the callsign field type star,
that's uppercase 8 handiham star. Don't put any spaces in in that. Type it
out as one word.starhandihamstar. 4. You can also tab over to the node
number field and type the six diget node number which is 494492. I'm not
sure how to do this with a smart phone. Someone else will have to help you
with that. If you're using a repeater with echolink, you'll have to, in most
cases, type the node number on your key pad. You can also access the
handiham conference server by way of the internet radio linking project,
IRLP for short. To do this, press 9008 on your key pad. This will connect
you to channel 8 of the Vancover reflector, which is where handiham is
located. The handiham conference server is a pretty active one. You'll most
alwayse find someone to talk to there. They have nets every monday through
saturday at noon, eastern time. Every Wednesday evening at 8 eastern time
there is a net where a ham radio related trivia question is asked. I host
that net. On Thursday evenings there is a ham radio and technoligy net. On
Friday evenings at 8 eastern a gentleman from Austrillia holds another tech
net. I hope, Beckey, this answers your question. If I missed something,
someone on the list should feel free to fill in the blanks. Hope to bump
into you some Wednesday evening. That goes for everyone else. 73 and God
bless. Doug, N6NFF
