Kent, you can use the keys to the right of the main tuning knob. If you
have the front panel layout, they're in rows 3 through 5 on the keypad to
the right of the main tuning knob. As you already know, you turn on memory
mode with the 5-3 key, row 5, column 3. You can go down and up with keys
4-1 and 4-2. Once you're at a menu, set the value with keys 3-2 and 5-2.
So those 4 keys, 3-2 on top, 4-1 and 4-2 in the middle, and 5-2 on the
bottom form a logical sort of cursor layout.

Let's say you enter menu mode and the vgs-1 says "menu 04 4". This means
you're at menu 04, and it's value is 4. Now press 4-2 a couple of times to
get up to menu 6. It might say something like "06 1". Now press 3-2 to
increase the value, and you'll hear "2", and the speech will get louder.
Press
5-2 to decrease the value. I keep mine at 1, the lowest level.

My rotary control only moves by 1 value, so I can use it to move one menu at
a time, but you don't need to if you use the 4-1 button to go back one, and
4-2 to go forward by 1.

I cannot. I am about 260 miles west on the NC TN border.

Thank you, Kent
