Certainly for DX-peditions the license and location have to be verified
before LOTW validation is confirmed.
I can only guess that the same applies for alternate locations as it is
address specific.

Subject: LOTW Questions

Hi, everyone.

I am finally getting around to setting up A C Log, and LOTW on my ham shack
logging computer. It will be a while yet until LOTW is fully operational,
because my XYL and I just applied to the ARRL for our authentication
certificates and have to wait for our confirmation postcards to arrive in
the mail.

However, I have a few questions about LOTW. I guess it's just the professor
in me, but I'm trying to get a handle on exactly what LOTW is, and what its
uses are, before I get too deeply into things.

1. Am I correct in saying that LOTW is a log data base that is kept for you
at ARRL HQ, for confirming QSO's etc.? In other words, you keep your own
log with AC log, and then periodically upload your updated AC log file to
the League if someone wants a QSO confirmation?

And

2. It is clear to me from the certificate authentication process that your
LOTW log is associated with the address that is in the FCC data base for
your particular license. That's ok for me now, since until camping season,
I'll be operating from my home QTH. But what happens when I'm operating
from the RV camp site in the summer months? Is there a way I can
temporarily change my operating location to fit that situation?
