Hi Alan:

Supposed your right about implementing speech on one of your suggested
meters, what is the initial cost?
I would guess at least 500$US and then the cost of adaptation. I would
think an additional 2 or 300 for developed internal speech. We're now at
800, I think that's out of reach for allot of us except those who have the
hp, which I for one don't.
Ok the TW-1 had some short comings, I wouldn't put no more than 1500W SSB
through them or maybe 1.2KW at best but a similar but better designed TW-1
type could be made available for 400$US.
