Hi. I had not looked at the manual in a long time. I just made that
change, and think I'll like it. Thanks for the reminder.

Hi Lou,
The manual states:
***
After you become accustomed to your TW-1, you will likely want the shorter
readouts,
without
all the extra chit-chat. To select "Terse" mode, press the REV and SWR
buttons together
while
you apply DC power. Thereafter, on pressing a button when RF is present,
only the
numerical
value will be spoken.
To return to "Verbose" mode, press the FWD and REV buttons together while
you apply
DC
power.

The manual is in MP3 and PDF at:

Can someone remind me how to switch from less verbal to more verbal on the
LDG TW1? I changed it to short years ago when I got the meter but, what
with autotuners and such, I haven't had occasion to use the device lately.
I just put up a 30 meter inverted vee and, despite the notorious inaccuracy
of the TW1, I thought I'd check it out. As I recall the .pdf of the manual
works well with speech but I've misplaced mine. Thanks much. Lou
