I want one of those myself. Do you think it would be suitable to put on a portable base, and does it have a power handling rating? being a telescopic with just a spring it should handle quite a bit mreo than just 5w from an ht. I have a diamond rubber duck that is about 16 inches long and is quite flexible and works great, but one line you describe would make a great part to a grab and go kit for public service. I assume they make them with bnc and standard ska connections as well.
thanks for the idea for my own project.
