Tom, I just worked W1AW/W8 on 40 phone. The station had a big signal. I'll
still look for you Saturday.

Alan:

That is me.

I will be operating W1AW/8 on 40 meter phone this Saturday from 4 - 6 p.m.
Eastern, somewhere in the general portion of the band. I'd love to have any
list members work me if they are interested.

I've noticed quite a variety of skill levels among the operators that I
have heard operating the W1AW event so far. However, I always try to
remember that this is a fun event that is supposed to celebrate the League's
100th anniversary. I, myself, do not want to be too critical because I'll
probably make my share of mistakes or blunders on Saturday, and hope that
those trying to contact me will understand and cooperate as best as they
can. The pileups are often enormous, which makes operating the event more
challenging than usual.

I vaguely recall that one of our list members planned to operate as W1AW/W8.
There is a fellow operating as W1AW/W8 on 40 phone tonight who sounds as if
English is not his primary language. I actually heard a station request a
repeat of the state because he couldn't understand his accent, Hi.
