I use an I.D. mate bar code reader. Less for coax than for the other
stuff in the shack: all pc and usb cables, and all the wallwarts and
other DC wires running around. If the bar code is cut in half, you get
2 identical barcodes, so I put 1 half at each end of the cable. If
something gets unplugged I can scan it and know where it goes, or if I
want to know what that particular wall wart is powering.
Not tactual, and not cheap, but another use for the scanner besides
telling me what is in that can or box from the supermarket.
