the package was insured for $600 (replacement cost for the radio). I asked the gentleman at the repair point about the origin; packaging and was told that it had been discarded immediately after the radio had arrived (apparently they have prompt trash pickup there in NY as it was gone less than 2 hours later, about the time I called in fact).
