The good news is that it is totally free from kenwood. The bad news is
that it won't work on Win 98. Oldest OS it is supposed to work on is
XP SP3. Of course you can try and see what happens. Do it at your own
risk and prepare for a possible crash, or at the least it won't install.

There is other software for the radio here including virtual comm port
drivers to turn a USB port on the pc to a virtual serial port,and this
is needed to use the USB sound chip inside the 590. Also this is where
future firmware updates will be found. I don't think any of this stuff
will work on Win 98, so maybe you should consider at the least a used or
refurbished XP pc. I can't spend your money for you, but if you want to
use this software, you will have to step out of the pc stone age a bit.
