I agree with Butch on this one; I don't think ALC has anything to do with
the tripping relay. I'd check your control connections. I run the same amp
as you do (with no ALC hookup), and I've never seen the relay trip. I have
heard another clicking sound, which I think is expanding metal, but not the
relay.

Why would the relays trip? I didn't think that amp had that kind of
protection circuit. I ran my 590 at 100 watts driving my solid state metron
and never had any issues.
