Hi

Well, I used to own an Ameritron AL 80 A. It was a single 500Z tube. Great 
rig. Wade allot though. You will need some type of audio power indicator to 
tune the amp. I was on the Century Club net with mine. That was back in the 
early 1990s. That was kind of the hay day of radioing for me. Smile.

I would recommend an  Ameritron  to a friend.

Anyone have any experience with this amp?
The Guy who actually owns the KW-1000 my buddy has on his bench, doesn't
want to sell it to me because he thinks my class of license, restricts me
from running an amp.
There's an Ameritron 811 in my area, a little bit more expensive but I
might kick the tires on it.
Its about 6 years old so unfortunately its not pre_MFJ but at least parts
could be gotten, unlike the 1972 built KW-1000.
