It seems Import communications is discontinuing sale of the Wouxun KG-UV2D
line of radios in favor of Anytone do to a manufacturing defect and ongoing
memory problems.  See the link below for more information.

I don't know if the replacement from Anytone has speech readout and is
usable by a totally blind amateur but I've written Ed Griffin about it.
