Terry, I'm not quite sure I understand what you're doing with JAWS.
Couldn't you just shut it up by muting JAWS speech? Or if you want to hear
the serial number, you could write a small JAWS script to speak it.

Subject: Re: a Braille radio

Hi Jim,

Yes, I have an old PowerBraille 80 which I use in conjunction with JAWS =
and N1MM. I put JAWS to sleep, thereby giving me the single line Braille =
display.

The only disadvantage of that approach I've seen so far is that I can't =
monitor anything outside that single displayed line, so finding outgoing =
serial numbers seems impossible. For that, I have to wake JAWS up and =
use the JAWS cursor. In order to shut it up, I shove an old earpiece =
into the audio output of the PC.

So, there you go!

Cheers and 73,

Terry
