Can you mount the vertical somewhat elevated, i.e. ten feet or so?
Everything I have read suggests that if the radials are elevated, there need not be as many.  Have yet to test this theory, but it seams very prevalent.

kb9zuv@I am going to be putting up an s9 43 foot vertical at the new house whenever I move. Hopefully around the end of next month.
I have the wire, just got to get the radials laid out.

Keep us posted, I will do the same.
