Well, I must have been too tired last night when I priced out a K3 on
elecraft.com.  When I got to the end, my bill came to just shy of $13000.

I did a full spec out of the k3 once and I think the total, factory 
assembled, came in under 6K.
That's not including the 500W amplifier or the pan adapter etc...perhaps 
those might be useful for resale value, but utterly useless to me as an 
operator.
But, that had every filter and bell and whistle they offer for the k3.
Does the K3 have a built in power supply though? and it's definitely not 
200W like the 990.
Those things aren't worth a couple grand plus more than the k3, but still 
sometimes nice to have it all in one package...that said, I expect the K3 is

a better radio all around.
Not enough users of the 990 yet to give a really good comparison.
