Pat, I agree with Bev and both Sharons will be praying also that not 
only will he give you a better attitude, but also that he will 
recognize just how much you could use an IPhone.  He simply does not 
realize just how many applications on an IPhone are accessible for 
the visually impaired, allowing them much more independence.

Why today I was riding on the Lift to an appointment for Lift 
eligibility for Bill, something required every three years,  when I 
decided to turn on an app called "Blind Square," and it proceeded to 
tell me each street that we crossed and some of the businesses on 
those streets.  It works that way for walking as well.  To say the 
least, it was great!  There are other apps that do similar things, as 
well as read money, color identification, bar code scanning, OCR and 
Braille reading apps, internet capability, word processing apps, and 
Podcasting apps to keep you up-to-date with current
technology, etc.

Please show him this and have him think about apps to help you be 
more independent versus a recreational play thing.
