Lew,
Hopefully, this will help, I of course have access to Openbook 7 and
Openbook 9, but not 8. However, the layout changed in OB 9 as I recall.
To save as an image, O
Open settings with control-G.
Control tab to the scanning settings.
The first combobox is scan type. Select image only.
When yo initiate a scan, you will select the filename for the image and the
type of file you want to create, .pcx, .tif, .jpeg etc.
