Hi Gary,
Press and I with the Space bar and turn the power on. When the unit comes
up, answer "y" yes to all of the questions. This will delete all files from
the unit, delete all but the Ram and Flash folders from the folder system
and clear the ram memory (deleted files normally reside in ram storage until
the memory locations are overwritten). Once you've reset the Millennium,
press dots 34 chord (dots 34 with Space) to enter the Status menu. Press dot
4 chord until you hear something like "Serial port on." Press the space bar
and you should hear the serial port status change to off. Press z-chord to
leave the Status menu.

If you wish to trust my memory, I believe the hot key to jump directly to
the serial port status item is either f or f-chord (I just don't remember,
it's been a number of years since I worked with the Millennium units on a
daily basis). If f or f-chord doesn't work, just press dot 4 chord or dot 1
chord repeatedly until you reach the serial port item.

You can find the owner's manual for the Braille Lite Millennium at:

Best regards,

Ron Miller

well, got the reset, i-chord did it. Now the device continuously says
"waiting on serial device".

Any idea what next, or did I get screwed?
