Subject: [N3FJP_Software] Contest Logs Updated for Screen Readers, Demo &
TQSL Deadlock Condition Corrected!
Hi All,
I have a couple announcements to share...
Contest Logs Updated to Accommodate Screen Readers!
You'll notice new version numbers for all the new, C# versions of my
contesting software on www.n3fjp.com. Like the recent modifications to AC
Log, I've made adjustments under the hood so that the contesting software is
much more screen reader friendly for visually impaired users. This is the
only change, so if you don't use a screen reader there is no need to
upgrade.
AC Log 4.2 Accessibility Review and Demo!
Kelvin Marsh, M0AID, who was a tremendous help in making Amateur Contact Log
more accessible for visually impaired hams, has put together a review and
audio demo of Amateur Contact Log. You'll find Kelvin's review here:

His audio MP3 overview here:

TQSL / AC Log Deadlock Condition Corrected!
The TQSL upload is already working fine for almost everyone running AC Log
4.2 and TQSL 1.14 or later. If you are in that camp, you need not read
further.
About a half dozen folks have reported problems when signing and uploading
to LoTW, that the TQSL software would lock or display behind another form.
I've been working with the TQSL folks and I think we've identified the
problem and a solution. I'd like to extend a special thanks to Rick, K1MU
and Dave, AA6YQ for their good suggestions and help!
Long story short, if someone had a large number of errors, such as many QSOs
with invalid dates, the TQSL buffer would fill with error messages, waiting
for AC Log to read it before proceeding, but AC Log was waiting for TQSL to
finish before reading the buffer, resulting in a deadlock.
I've modified the code to correct the problem and it is working well when I
simulate the conditions here. If you are one of the few folks experiencing
this problem, please uninstall AC Log from Windows Control Panel and then
reinstall it. The current AC Log version number remains 4.2, but the LoTW
form now also has a version number, which says 1.2. You can download that
latest version of AC Log here:

As always, all these upgrades are free to registered users!
And in response to the questions we always receive when we neglect to
include the following in our e-mail announcements...
Package Upgrade Information...
If you have registered one or more individual programs and would like to
upgrade to N3FJP's Software Package or N3FJP's Software Package and CD for
full use of all our Amateur Radio software, we would be glad to apply the
amount that you have registered so far as a credit towards that purchase.
Please send us an e-mail directly and we'll let you know your balance.
N3FJP's Software Package includes approximately 50 programs for contesting,
net management, general logging and other Amateur Radio related
applications. In addition to full use of all these programs, registered
package customers are also entitled to receive free passwords for any new
software that is added to the package and free upgrades to existing
programs. You'll find all the details on the Register Now page at
www.n3fjp.com.
Donations are Gratefully Accepted!
And in response to the often asked question for which Kimberly and I are
very grateful...
"I know your upgrades are free, but I also realize how much time and effort
coding these enhancements and new programs take and that your pricing policy
doesn't fully reflect that. Can I send you something to show my appreciation
for your continued efforts?"
Yes, thanks so much, your continued support in any amount is very welcome
and deeply appreciated! You can use this page:

or send your contribution by mail, payable to Affirmatech Inc., to:

Thank you so much for your continued support!
Thanks!
As always, thanks for your kind words, support, linking to our web site and
spreading the word about our software. Kimberly and I really appreciate it!

p.s.
If you want to unsubscribe or need to change your e-mail address for future
announcements....
The way Yahoo groups are set up, it is much easier for subscribers to
unsubscribe from the old e-mail address than for the list owner to do it for
you. In addition, Yahoo now prohibits list owners from adding anyone, so it
is impossible for me to add your new e-mail address..
Fortunately, it is very easy for subscribers to unsubscribe and resubscribe.
Here are the links to the announcements group:

Please go ahead and make that change.
